Since its donation in 2004, Pioneer Forest, as a limited liability corporation, has been owned by the L-A-D Foundation and continues to be managed as it has since its beginning in the 1950's. 

The Foundation also acquires and preserves in the public interest outstanding areas of natural geologic, cultural or historic interest. Current River Natural Area, which is 265 acres in size, is pictured at the left.

In addition, our sister foundation, the Ozark Natural Resources Foundation provides support to various non-profit organizations whose projects and conservation goals have a particular focus on the Missouri Ozark region.
